Is Malaysia A Federation?

Federation can be called a state comprised of a number of self-governing regions united by a central government. Malaysia can be called as federation because it is clearly stated in Article 1 (1) of Federal Constitution, the federation shall be known, in Malay and in English, by the name Malaysia and Article 1 (2), the States of the Federaation shall be Johore, Kedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Trengganu.
Within this two provisions, it is clearly stated that Malaysia is a federation since its establishment in September 1963. Characteristic of federation consist of unity of a few self-governing government and being rule by a central or federal government.

Commonly, Malaysia is a federation based on the system Malaysian used to run this country.
